2021 Scholarship

 

The Lexington Soil and Water Conservation District will award one scholarship this year, in the sum of $1,500. Additional Scholarships may be available depending on funds availability and applications that meet the requirements. Scholarships presented at the Soil & Water Conservation Annual Banquet that will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at T&S Farm in Leesville, South Carolina. The scholarship checks are jointly written to the recipient and the college or university attending. Subsequent funding, after the Freshman year through the Senior year, up to $200 for school materials will be available if:

  • Scholarships recipients provide an oral presentation of up to ten minutes to the Lexington Soil and Water Conservation District Board on their progress within their Major after each school year.
  • Has not changed their initial Major outside the agricultural or environmental fields.
  • Has maintained at least a 2.5 GPA

The scholarships are presented to high school seniors residing in Lexington County who will be attending a South Carolina college, university, or technical college. The applicants must be planning a major in an agricultural or environmental related field such as: vocational agriculture education, agriculture economics or engineering, agronomy, natural resources, biology, forestry, horticulture, etc.
